3D Piet Mondrian

Drawing on my foundation in traditional art fundamentals and my knack for contemporary digital motion, I created a series that transforms the styles of notable artists into 3D animations. This first piece pays homage to Piet Mondrian, adapting his abstract geometric style into animated visuals.

Mondrian’s bold black grid lines, primary color blocks, and balanced asymmetry are reimagined through fluid transitions and dimensional movement. The animation morphs between compositions while staying true to his geometric abstraction. By introducing spatial depth and temporal flow through displacement mapping, static forms are reinterpreted into a moving piece that breathes new life into the De Stijl aesthetic.

Through this project, I hope to show that when 2D visuals are reworked into digital motion, any design, whether for an artist, brand, or concept, is brought to life through animation using modern tools.
